The Nikon FM3a is a 35mm film SLR camera.

Released in 2001, it is the successor to the FM2 (1983) but incorporates important features from the FE series, such as the aperture-priority autofocus from the FE2. It also adopts the viewfinder and exposure meter display from the latter, using a needle galvanometer that indicates the shutter speed set by the camera in automatic mode, while in manual mode it operates by needle overlap (calculated – set). Its shutter is called “hybrid” because in manual mode it is entirely mechanical and operates even in the absence of power, while in the A it is electromechanical (mechanical but assisted by electricity).
