Commlite CM-ENF-E1 is an electronic adapter designed to use Nikon F lenses on Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras. The adapter enables the mechanical mounting of Nikon lenses on Sony E bodies and, with compatible combinations, retains selected electronic functions such as EXIF data transmission, camera-based aperture control, autofocus, and support for VR stabilization on stabilized Nikon lenses. It is mainly intended for Nikon F lenses with built-in autofocus motors, such as AF-S and AF-I lenses, while lenses without an integrated focus motor can be used in manual focus. Autofocus support varies depending on the Sony camera body, lens type, and adapter firmware version; on compatible Sony cameras it can use on-sensor phase-detection autofocus, but performance is not necessarily equivalent to that of a native Sony E lens. The adapter also supports electronic aperture control on many Nikon G, E, and selected compatible D-type lenses, as well as teleconverter use in certain configurations. The aluminum alloy construction includes electronic contacts, a 1/4” threaded tripod foot, and a weight of approximately 250 g.
