Viltrox AF 50mm f/2 FE (Sony E)

Viltrox AF 50mm f/2.0 Air is a compact autofocus standard lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, available for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Leica L-Mount. The 50 mm focal length provides a natural and versatile perspective suitable for portraiture, street photography, travel, everyday shooting, still life, and video production, while the f/2 maximum aperture offers good subject separation and low-light capability while keeping overall size very compact. The optical design consists of 13 elements in 9 groups and includes 3 ED elements, 4 high-refractive-index elements, and 1 aspherical element, with HD Nano coating designed to reduce aberrations, flare, and loss of contrast. Autofocus is driven by an STM motor with lead-screw mechanism, designed to provide fast and quiet focusing, with support for eye and face detection on compatible camera bodies and minimized focus breathing during video recording. Minimum focusing distance is 0.51 m, maximum magnification is 0.11x, the diaphragm uses 9 blades, and minimum aperture is f/16. The filter thread measures 58 mm, the front element features a water- and dirt-resistant coating, the mount is metal, and a USB-C port allows firmware updates. Dimensions and weight vary slightly by mount: approximately 205 g for Sony E and L-Mount versions and around 220 g for Nikon Z. Viltrox AF 50mm f/2.0 Air is therefore suitable for users looking for a lightweight full-frame 50 mm lens that is easy to carry and well suited to both photography and video without the bulk of faster standard primes.
