The Metz Mecablitz 64 AF-1 Digital is a powerful professional shoe-mount flash designed for photographers who require high output, advanced lighting control and full integration with compatible camera TTL systems. Featuring a maximum guide number of 64 at ISO 100 with the zoom reflector set to 200 mm, it delivers substantial flash power suitable for event, wedding, portrait, reportage and creative photography. The motorised zoom reflector covers focal lengths from 24 to 200 mm in 35 mm format, while the built-in wide-angle diffuser extends coverage to approximately 12 mm. Its tilting and swivelling flash head can be angled upwards to 90° and rotated laterally, providing extensive flexibility for bounce flash techniques using walls and ceilings. A distinctive feature of the Mecablitz 64 AF-1 is its touchscreen display, which provides quick access to operating modes and important flash parameters. Depending on the dedicated camera version, the unit supports advanced TTL metering, HSS/FP high-speed synchronization, manual flash operation, automatic mode, stroboscopic flash and wireless master/slave functions. Manual flash output can be adjusted down to 1/256 power in one-third-stop increments, allowing precise control over lighting intensity. The flash has an approximate colour temperature of 5600 K and supports sensitivity settings ranging from ISO 6 to ISO 51200. The Metz Mecablitz 64 AF-1 operates with four AA alkaline, NiMH or lithium batteries and can also be used with the Metz Power Pack P76 for improved recycling performance and extended shooting capacity. With 2100 mAh NiMH batteries, maximum recycling time is approximately 1.8 seconds, with around 190 full-power flashes available under specified conditions. The flash measures approximately 78 × 148 × 112 mm and weighs around 422 g without batteries.
