Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 (Canon)

Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 is a hot-shoe electronic flash designed for digital photography, available in dedicated versions for major Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, and Olympus/Panasonic/Leica systems, with support for the corresponding TTL modes and compatible camera functions. Maximum guide number is 52 at ISO 100 with the reflector set to 105 mm, while the motorized zoom head covers focal lengths from 24 to 105 mm and, with the integrated wide-angle diffuser, extends coverage to approximately 12 mm in 35 mm format. The flash head can tilt upward to 90° and rotate horizontally up to 180° to the left and 120° to the right, making bounce flash from ceilings and walls easy to use. The flash supports TTL, manual, high-speed FP/HSS synchronization, wireless remote slave operation, and servo modes, with manual power adjustment down to 1/128 and down to 1/64 in FP modes. A distinctive feature of the Mecablitz 52 AF-1 is its touchscreen display, used to manage settings and featuring automatic display orientation depending on the position of the flash. Stated color temperature is approximately 5600 K, while the body measures around 73 × 134 × 90 mm and weighs approximately 346 g without batteries. It also includes an integrated wide-angle diffuser, bounce card, firmware update capability, and automatic reflector zoom control on compatible cameras. Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 is suitable for events, portraits, reportage, ceremonies, and creative direct or bounced flash photography; because it was produced in brand-specific versions, the exact model and TTL compatibility with the intended camera should always be checked.
