Leica SL3-S is a full-frame mirrorless camera with L-Mount, designed for professional photography, video production, reportage, events, portraiture, commercial content, and hybrid photo/video workflows. It features a 24 MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with 779-point PDAF autofocus, in-body image stabilization, and an extended ISO range from 50 to 200,000, a configuration focused on operating speed, low-light performance, and efficient file handling compared with the 60 MP Leica SL3. The camera allows continuous shooting up to 30 fps in 12-bit with continuous autofocus and includes 48 and 96 MP Multishot modes, also handheld, useful when higher resolution is required for static subjects. For video, it supports recording up to 6K Open Gate in 3:2 format, internal ProRes 4:2:2 HQ up to 5.8K 30p, 4K recording up to 60p, and advanced workflows also with external SSD recording via USB-C. The metal body maintains IP54 protection against dust and splashes, a tilting touchscreen display, a high-resolution electronic viewfinder, dual card slots for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and integration with the Leica FOTOS app. Leica SL3-S also supports Content Credentials according to the Content Authenticity Initiative standard, useful for attaching verifiable information about the origin of the image to files. It is suitable for photographers and videographers looking for a Leica full-frame body more oriented toward speed, video, and available-light performance than the high-resolution SL3, while maintaining compatibility with Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma L-Mount lenses.
