Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art, model A026, is a fast wide-angle prime lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, available for Sony E and L-Mount. The 35 mm focal length provides a versatile angle of view suitable for reportage, street photography, environmental portraiture, travel, documentary photography, and video production. The f/1.4 maximum aperture allows shooting in low-light conditions and provides shallow depth of field, while the rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth out-of-focus rendering. The optical design consists of 15 elements in 12 groups, including 2 SLD elements and 4 aspherical elements, designed to help control chromatic aberrations, coma, and loss of sharpness across the frame. The autofocus system uses a Dual HLA linear motor configuration, intended to provide fast, accurate, and quiet focusing for both stills and video. The minimum focusing distance is 28 cm, with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.4 and a 67 mm filter thread. The body features dust- and splash-resistant construction, a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, and the new AAC, Advanced Amorphous Coating, designed to reduce flare and ghosting. Compared with the previous DG DN generation, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art is more compact and lighter, weighing approximately 530 g in L-Mount version and 525 g in Sony E version.
