Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art, model A026, is a medium-telephoto prime lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, available for Sony E and L-Mount. Its f/1.2 maximum aperture, the brightest ever used by Sigma on an autofocus 85 mm lens, is primarily intended for portraiture, fashion, weddings, events, and video work where very shallow depth of field and strong subject separation are desired. The optical design consists of 17 elements in 12 groups, including two SLD elements and three aspherical elements, engineered to control axial chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, and sagittal coma from maximum aperture. The diaphragm uses 13 rounded blades to maintain a near-circular aperture even when stopped down. Focusing uses a floating system with dual HLA linear motors, designed to provide fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus for both stills and video; Sigma has also worked to minimize focus breathing. Minimum focusing distance is 84 cm, maximum magnification is 1:8.9, and the filter thread measures 82 mm. The lens features an aperture ring with click/de-click operation and lock, two programmable AFL buttons, dust- and splash-resistant construction, and a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element. It measures approximately 87.2 × 119.7 mm in L-Mount version and 87.2 × 121.7 mm in Sony E version, with a weight of approximately 905 g for both.
