Aputure Fresnel 2X (Bowens mount)

Aputure Fresnel 2X is a Bowens-mount Fresnel optical modifier designed primarily for Aputure Light Storm 300-series point-source LED fixtures and also compatible with selected Bowens-mount lights. It uses a dual-lens optical system with a large approximately 5.5-inch front Fresnel element, developed to concentrate and intensify the light beam more efficiently than the first-generation Aputure Fresnel. Its rotating barrel allows continuous beam-angle adjustment from approximately 12° in Spot position to 40° in Flood position, making it possible to move quickly from a narrow, concentrated beam to a wider and more even spread. With the Aputure 300d, the Fresnel 2X can reach approximately 78,000 lux at 1 meter in Spot and 30,000 lux in Flood, while with the 120d II it can reach approximately 67,000 lux in Spot, providing a significant increase in output compared with use without the modifier or with standard reflectors. The 7-inch front ring is compatible with dedicated Aputure Barndoors, allowing further control over beam shape and spill. The body measures approximately 180 × 180 × 141 mm and weighs around 1.24 kg, remaining relatively compact for a Fresnel modifier of this class. Fresnel 2X is optimized in particular for LS C300d II, LS 300x, amaran 150c, and amaran 300c, while on other Bowens-mount fixtures it may be physically compatible without necessarily providing optimized optical performance. Aputure Fresnel 2X is therefore suitable for photographers, videographers, and film productions that need to increase source intensity, precisely control beam angle, and achieve a more directional light without using larger modifiers.
