Manfrotto 486RC2 Testa a sfera

Manfrotto 486RC2 is a compact ball head with the RC2 quick-release system, designed for 35mm SLR cameras, digital cameras, and lightweight medium-format bodies. Its construction combines a die-cast aluminum housing with a highly durable phenolic resin ball, a solution intended to provide smooth movement and stable locking in a wide range of shooting positions. The head allows full 360° panoramic rotation and tilt movement up to 90°/-90°, controlled through a single indexed ratchet locking knob that can be repositioned when required. The RC2 system uses the Manfrotto 200PL-14 quick-release plate with a 1/4-inch camera screw and secondary safety catch, while the bottom of the head features a 3/8-inch female thread for mounting on compatible tripods. The stated load capacity is 6 kg, weight is approximately 460 g, and height is around 10 cm. The 486RC2 is therefore a robust and relatively compact ball head suited to medium-light photographic setups that require quick positioning and straightforward operation; as it is a discontinued legacy model, when purchasing used it is advisable to check the ball-lock mechanism, RC2 quick-release system, 200PL-14 plate, and any excessive mechanical play.
