Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM (Leica M)
Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM first version is a manual-focus prime lens for Leica M rangefinder cameras and compatible VM-mount bodies, also usable on mirrorless systems through dedicated adapters. The 50 mm focal length provides a standard perspective suitable for environmental portraiture, street photography, reportage, available-light photography, and everyday use, while the f/1.2 maximum aperture allows working with shallow depth of field and in limited lighting conditions. The optical design consists of 8 elements in 6 groups and includes aspherical elements, designed to help control aberrations while maintaining relatively compact dimensions for the brightness offered. The 12-blade diaphragm operates from f/1.2 to f/22 and contributes to smooth out-of-focus rendering. Focusing is fully manual, with rangefinder coupling on compatible Leica M cameras and a minimum focusing distance of 0.70 m. The lens uses 52 mm filters, has a diagonal angle of view of 47.5°, a length of approximately 49 mm, a maximum diameter of about 63 mm, and a weight of around 344 g. Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM first version is suitable for photographers looking for a very bright, fully manual 50 mm lens with traditional metal construction and Leica M system compatibility, intended for an essential and controlled photographic workflow.
