The 30 mm focal length corresponds to approximately 45 mm on full-frame (60 mm on Micro Four Thirds), reproducing a perspective very close to the human eye, making it perfect for environmental portraits, reportage, street photography, and general daily scenes. The optical design includes 9 elements in 7 groups with an aspherical element that minimizes aberrations and ensures excellent sharpness. The autofocus system is driven by a stepping motor which guarantees fast, precise, and particularly quiet AF performance, great for both stills and video. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm contributes to the quality of the out-of-focus areas. The minimum focusing distance is 30 cm and the front filter diameter is 52 mm.
